l would like to share this praise from my mothers heart ❣️
I have a 10 year old son. As he grew up it always saddened me that wherever we lived he could never make friends and for many years as he grew up our close friends either had girls close to his age or their sons were much older. There were just never any boys his age that he could have a friend.
What l really wanted for my son was to play outside with friends, to play uninhibitedly, come home dirty, run around, get exercise in the form of playing with friends and not sit with a device like a zombie watching youtube videos and playing games. Do you relate, mom?
In today’s society we don’t allow our kids to play outside as freely anymore because it’s not safe so we understand why our streets are not filled with kids playing like they did when we were kids. Our world has changed and it’s not as safe anymore.
I have prayed for my son to have friends and God knows it’s been a desire of my heart for my son to play freely outside.
Recently we had to move because we couldn’t afford the rent and we needed a dedicated space for my husband who has a side hustle, he fixes rods and reels.
How we came to live where we are now is a praise all on its own the way the Lord opened worked everything out. But the praise that l want to share with you is that where we now live has a dead end circle or a cul-de-sac if l’m not mistaken. I will look it up LOL.
Yes l live in a cul-de-sac 😅 But the great thing is that this cul-de-sac has a park in the center. The fact that this park has swings, a slide and a see-saw is a miracle in itself and if you are South African like l am you will understand why its a miracle LOL because most parks get vandalized and everything gets broken. The fact that this park is still intact is mostly unheard of.
The awesome thing about this park is that every house in this circle looks straight onto the park, every door, every window, which makes it really safe. We have a great view of the park from all our doors and windows.
The praise is that when we first moved here my son would go out to swing and gained a friend!! A little boy younger than him! This little boy would call my son to come play and then l noticed there were two more boys closer in age to my son. Then one day it was getting so late l had to go call my son.
When l asked him what they were doing he said playing soccer in his friends backyard and that he had so much fun! What pleased me the most though was how dirty my son was! His feet were black 🤣
And then yesterday l saw that there were a couple more boys and that they were playing soccer off to the side in a big open space. Then two more boys joined in the game. They were playing for hours!
When he came home he was so exhausted, said his legs hurt so l knew he got a good workout LOL! And when bedtime came he showed me his scrapes! They looked painful. I had to clean them with dettol antiseptic and l felt so bad for him because l knew it stung terribly! And put in some monkey blood which is mercurochrome to dry the scrapes.
I am just so thankful 🙌🏼 l always wanted my son to play freely as a child and HE heard my prayer and answered this desire of my heart 🙌🏼
My encouragement to inspire you today is that HE does know the desires of your heart just like HE knows mine and HE will answer so many of your prayers but you need to look out and watch out for it!
There are prayers that don’t get answered immediately and there are prayers that do. I have no doubt that the Lord answers in his perfect timing whether my prayer, request, need or desire is urgent or not so urgent because HE knows exactly what I need or my family needs WHEN we need it.
So lets rest in Him today knowing that we can fully trust HIM with our prayers and the desires of our hearts🙌🏼
Psalm 34:7 says
“Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
All we are required to do is to tell Him and speak to Him about it and leave it in His hands 🙏🏼
Check out these other translations that I just came across. It also says we need to be happy with the Lord and seek our happiness in the Lord
“Be happy with the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
“Seek your happiness in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desire.”
